Thomas Muller Gets Into Lionel Messi’s Head Following UCL Win

  • Bayern Munich midfielder, Thomas Muller joins in on the Ronaldo vs. Messi debate as he banters the Barcelona legend.

  • According to Thomas Muller, Ronaldo has been more dangerous to Bayern Munich than Lionel Messi has.

  • This is in response to Bayern Munich’s win in the Champions League on Wednesday and prior games against the Argentine.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller believes that Cristiano Ronaldo has been more dangerous to his former team than Lionel Messi.

The statement was made after Paris Saint-Germain’s elimination from the Champions League by Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. Bayern Munich beat PSG 1-0 in France in the first leg and followed that up with a 2-0 victory in the return leg at the Allianz Arena.

Messi, a World Cup winner with Argentina, struggled to make an impact in both legs of the Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, losing six of his nine games played against the German side throughout his career. Muller, who played in both legs of the tie, noted that Ronaldo has caused Bayern more problems in the Champions League over the past decade.

Muller shared his opinion on the two footballing greats in a post-match interview: “Against Messi, things always go well at all levels in terms of results,” he said. “At club level, Cristiano Ronaldo was our problem when he was at Real Madrid.”

Muller’s claim about Ronaldo comes as the Portuguese star now plays his football in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr. He left Manchester United back in November 2022 after his contract was terminated by the club following a face-off with manager Erik ten Hag. At Al-Nassr, Ronaldo is currently the highest-paid sportsman in history.

Muller also spoke about PSG’s performance in the Champions League, admitting that it is not easy to play for a team like PSG. “It’s difficult to get a really good team balance,” he said.

Despite the loss, PSG is still considered one of the strongest teams in Europe and is expected to bounce back in the future.
