Thomas Muller Gives His Honest Opinion On UCL Quarter-Final Draw

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has expressed his delight at drawing Manchester City in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. The draw was conducted in Nyon on Friday, and the German side was paired with the Premier League leaders.

Muller, who played under Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola during his time at Bayern Munich, reflected on the Spaniard’s departure from the German club and expressed happiness that the last game would take place in Munich.

“Quarterfinals against Manchester City. Look, Pep [Guardiola] left here in Bayern [Munich] and now the first game against his team,” Muller said.

“Looking forward to it and very happy that the last game is in Munich.”

The Champions League last eight first and second-leg fixtures will take place next month at the Etihad Stadium and the Allianz Arena, respectively.

Bayern Munich, the reigning champions of the competition, secured their place in the quarterfinals after defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16. The German giants have won the competition six times, including their most recent, which they won by defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the final.

Meanwhile, Manchester City reached the quarterfinals after knocking out RB Leipzig in the round of 16. The English side has never won the Champions League and will be looking to secure their first European title under Guardiola.
