Three Die After Being Trapped In Well In Osun

  • A pastor and 2 siblings end up dying after being trapped in a well in the Ojoro community of Osun State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that tragedy struck in Ojoro, a community in Owode Ede, Ede North local government area of Osun State when three people died after being trapped inside a well.

The victims, who included two brothers who worked as masons and a pastor, were contracted to work on a building construction project when the incident occurred.

The masons, Waliu Adediran, 31, and his younger brother, Lateef Adediran, 22, were drawing water from the well when Lateef’s drawer fell into the well. Lateef climbed into the well to retrieve the drawer, but he did not come out.

In a bid to rescue his younger brother, Waliu also climbed into the well but also got trapped. The pastor, Adebayo Oluwasina, who was overseeing the construction project, attempted to rescue the two men, but he also got trapped.

According to eyewitnesses, the three men were trapped in the well due to the presence of ammonia gas. Efforts to rescue them proved futile, and the Osun State Fire Service was eventually called in to recover their bodies.

The coordinated efforts of the Federal and Osun State Fire Services, the Nigerian Police, and local residents led to the successful recovery of the three bodies.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Osun State Fire Service, Adekunle Ibrahim, revealed that the bodies were evacuated and taken to an undisclosed hospital by the O’ Ambulance crew, where they were confirmed dead and subsequently handed over to their families.
