BREAKING: Three Dead As Gas Explosion Rocks Lagos

A gas explosion occurred on Tuesday morning on Ojekunle Street in the Ladipo area of Mushin in Lagos State.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the explosion happened around 8am.
An official of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the incident to Newsmen.
According to the official, first responders have been deployed to the site of the explosion.
The official also said at least three lives have been lost to the explosion as of the time of filing this report.
Prior to the recent explosion, the state had encountered gas leakage at Ikeja axis which led to panic on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
The leakage was said to have been caused by construction work going on in the area on Wednesday.
Ibrahim Farinloye, the acting coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency said the gas leakage has affected areas such as Computer Village, Awolowo Road, Oba Akran, Medical Road and Anifowoshe, all in Ikeja.

It was learnt that one of the bulldozers burst the pipeline during a demolition exercise taking place in the area.
NEMA had warned residents and traders to stay off the area to avoid explosions in the area.
Meanwhile, no fewer than five persons were confirmed dead in the gas explosion that occurred at Baruwa, Alimosho area of Lagos on Thursday, October 8.
A gas tanker explosion occurred at 5:40 a.m when a LPG tanker was discharging at the Best Roof Plant Station at the area.
The rescued persons were taken to a hospital after the initial first aid treatment.
Also, on Thursday night, June 18, Lagos recorded the death of 5 after the gas explosion on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, in the Maryland area of the State.
Over 22 vehicles were burnt in the inferno that followed the explosion while the Ogun State Property & Investment Corporation Plaza was badly damaged.
