- The Katsina State Police have arrested three suspected gunrunners transporting ammunition intended for bandits in the region.
The Katsina State command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest and detention of three suspected gunrunners.
According to the police, the individuals were apprehended while transporting a large quantity of ammunition intended for terrorists in the region.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that during a press briefing at the Katsina police headquarters on Friday, Police Public Relations Officer ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu disclosed that on August 29, 2024, around 12:45 PM, law enforcement officials arrested the suspects and seized a significant amount of live ammunition.
The suspects were apprehended in Dutsinma town, Dutsinma Local Government Area, while attempting to deliver 740 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition to alleged bandits in the Yauni forest, located in Ummadau village, Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Initial investigations suggest that the suspects obtained the ammunition from Nasarawa State and intended to deliver it to a man named Harisu, a suspected bandit leader currently evading capture.
