Three Men Nabbed For Gang-Rape In Ekiti

Ekiti State Police command have arrested three men for allegedly attacking and gang-raping a young woman in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

While confirming the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Asuquo Amba, said the men, Sola Adeyiwola, Michael Oladipo and Samuel Ogunlade, were arrested for alleged rape and cultism.

Amba, who spoke on Friday while parading some suspected criminals, alleged that the trio were arrested by his men after forcing a woman into an uncompleted building at the Olorunsogo area of the state capital, where they allegedly gang-raped her.

The CP, who said the suspects had confessed to being members of the Eiye Confraternity, added that they also admitted to gang-raping the victim.

Amba also paraded one John Okafor for allegedly attacking two students of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Olasehinde Olawale and Peter Lucky, who were forced to transfer N7,000 to his United Bank for Africa account No. 2141886420 at gunpoint.

The CP stated, “The case was immediately reported and the police went in search of the suspect.

“On February 24, 2020, John Okafor was arrested and he confessed to the crime and mentioned one Kingsley as his accomplice.

“As soon as investigations are concluded, all the suspects will be charged for prosecution.”
