Three night guards have been dragged to court for failing to foil robbery attack in Osun state.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Osun State Police Command on Monday, dragged three security guards before a Magistrate Court in Ile-Ife for failing to foil a robbery attack on an estate in Modakeke community.
The Police prosecutor, Inspector Onah Glory, told the court that the three night guards named Ismaila Mohammed, 45; Bibilari Olalere, 35; and Adigun Rasak, 40; exhibited dereliction of duty on November 29, around 10pm at Aserifa-Ola Estate, Modakeke-Ife.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendants conspired to commit the offence.

He said that the defendants, being the security guards in charge of the area, failed to prevent thieves from breaking into the shop of a resident identified as Owoseni Oluwatoyin.
The night guards were said to have committed offences contrary to and punishable under sections 515 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun, 2002.
When the two-count charge were read to the defendants, they pleaded not guilty. .
The defence counsel, Ben Adirieje, pleaded for the bail of the defendants in most liberal term, saying that his clients would not jump bail.
While ruling, Magistrate O. B. Adediwura granted bail to the defendants on payment of N100,000 with one surety in like amount.
The magistrate said that the sureties, who must present their office identification cards, must swear to affidavits of means.
The case was adjourned till January 24, 2022 for mention.
