Three Persons, Nine Cows Killed As Gunmen Attack Kogi Community
Terror in Egume, Dekina local government area of Kogi State, following early morning invasion of unknown gunmen leading to the killing of three Fulanis and nine cows.
The Assistant Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, Adamu Abubakar, disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja, the state capital, on Saturday.
According to him, on May 14, about 8 am, some gunmen invaded Ofanwa Elubi community in Egume and opened fire on the Fulani people, killing three and injuring scores in the attack which lasted several minutes.
“This was another attack on our innocent members who were gruesomely killed on the 14th of May 2020. The repeated killings of our members in Igala land is becoming unbearable.
“This time around, they launched the attack on our camp and shot at them without any offence. Those killed include Tine Idris, Fatu Idris, and Abdulkareem Saleh,” Abubakar said.
He said the incident had been reported to the DPO of Egume Police Station, adding that the three corpses have been evacuated.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson, Kogi State Police Command, William Ayah, said the Command has deployed officers to the area to forestall a recurrence while noting that investigation was ongoing on the matter.
