Thunderstrike Kills 70-Year-Old Imam in Kogi

A thunderstrike has tragically claimed the life of 70-year-old Malam Abu Yusuf in Abocho, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident occurred around 5:40 pm on Thursday during a heavy downpour in the area.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that residents of the community have been left in shock and mourning following the unfortunate event.

Dansoho Sulaiman, a local indigenes said that Yusuf was in good health before his untimely death.

Sulaiman recounted, “A family member called to inform me of his passing. There was a heavy rain in Abocho throughout the afternoon and into the evening. He was outside when suddenly there was thunder and lightning.

“He became a victim and lost his life. Such an incident has never occurred in Abocho community.

Yusuf will be laid to rest according to Islamic rites on Friday.
