Tiger Woods is expected to visit the White House next week, where he will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Donald Trump, a source told CNN on Thursday.
The 42-year-old won his fifth Masters title last month, his first since August 2013.
Following the victory, United States president, Donald Trump, congratulated Woods on his win in a tweet and informed him of his decision to hand him a presidential medal of freedom.
The medal recognises individuals for their contributions to the interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavours.
A source has now announced that the honour is meant for the renowned golfer this week although the exact date has not been made clear.
Woods, who fell from grace after earth-shattering cheating scandal with multiple women along with a debilitating injury, climbed to number 6 in the world ranking after his stunning comeback.
