TikTok Removes Over 2.1 Million Videos in Nigeria for Violating Guidelines

TikTok removed over 2.1 million videos in Nigeria during the second quarter of 2024 for violating its community guidelines.

According to the Community Guidelines Enforcement Report shared on Tuesday, the move is part of the platform’s ongoing efforts to enhance content moderation and ensure user safety.

The report highlighted that 99.1% of the videos were proactively removed before any user complaints, with 90.7% taken down within 24 hours.

This demonstrates TikTok’s commitment to curbing harmful content and maintaining a safer platform for Nigerian users.

The videos removed represent less than 1% of the total uploads in Nigeria during the period.
