Timi Frank, a political activist, has slammed Abubakar Malami, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, for saying that Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in 2019 general elections, is not a Nigerian.
Malami had taken the former Vice President to a federal high court in Abuja, arguing that he is not a Nigerian and therefore ineligible to hold any political office in the country.
Malami should concentrate on issues related to his appointment rather than bringing Atiku to court over false charges, according to the former APC deputy spokesman.
“Atiku Abubakar is a real Nigerian who has made significant sacrifices to help Nigeria’s democracy and economy stabilize.”
“It is both disgraceful and unpatriotic for people like Malami to make such rash and divisive remarks at this critical juncture in our country’s history.”
“It is statements like these that are fueling secessionist agitations in this country today.”
“How can Malami claim Atiku is not a real Nigerian if that is the case?”
“How did a man who ran for governor of Adamawa State and won, then served as Vice President of Nigeria for eight years become a foreigner in Nigeria?”

“How can a man who served this country as a Customs officer and owns a number of businesses that contribute significantly to the country’s growth not be a real Nigerian?”
“Is this how Malami and the other comedians in charge of the current government have turned it into a joke?”
“This politics of clutching at straws in a futile effort to tarnish Atiku’s reputation as a patriotic and revered Nigerian is reprehensible.”
