Tinubu Appoints New CEOs For NUC, NERDC, SMDF/PAGMI, NEPAD
President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointments of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) for key Nigerian agencies, including the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI), and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
This announcement was made in a statement issued by Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Friday.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, a visiting professor at the NUC and an expert in veterinary reproduction, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the NUC.
Ribadu, who has previously served as the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and the Sule Lamido University, Jigawa State, brings valuable leadership experience to the role.
Prof. Salisu Shehu has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC). Shehu, a prominent academic in educational and human psychology, played a key role in the establishment of the School of Continuing Education at Bayero University, Kano, and previously served as Vice-Chancellor of Al-Istiqamah University, Kano.
In addition, Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri has been appointed as the National Coordinator of NEPAD. Tsauri, who holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, is a seasoned administrator with expertise in legislative affairs, global affairs, democratic governance, and public service.
Lastly, Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI).
nDanfulani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK.
He has extensive experience in banking, computing, and business administration, having previously worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria and as a Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.
President Tinubu expressed confidence that the extensive experience and proven track record of the appointees would bring renewed commitment and progress to their respective agencies, ultimately fulfilling the expectations of Nigerians.
