Eko Hot Blog reports that President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of DIG Hashimu Argungu (retired) as Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
Also, the President appointed Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (retired) as a Member of the Commission.
These appointments were disclosed in a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
The statement confirms that the appointments are pending due to Senate confirmation.

The statement also mentioned that further appointments to the Police Service Commission will be made shortly.
Furthermore, President Tinubu has appointed Mr. Mohammed Sheidu as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF).
According to the presidential spokesman, this appointment is effective immediately.
“The President expects absolute demonstration of integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in the discharge of these important functions for the overall wellbeing of the Nigeria Police and the nation,” the statement concluded.
