President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, for a three-day official visit.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that he landed at the Presidential Wing of Malabo International Airport at approximately 2:07 pm and was welcomed by the Prime Minister, Manuela Roka Botey.
This visit is at the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea.
Upon arrival, President Tinubu participated in a brief welcome ceremony before proceeding to the Presidential Palace, also known as the People’s Palace Court.
At the People’s Palace Court, there will be a short ceremony followed by a family photo session, a military parade, and a private meeting between President Tinubu and President Mbasogo.
Following their private discussions, the two leaders will oversee the signing of bilateral agreements, covering various areas including oil and gas, security, and other sectors.
President Tinubu will then sign the official visitors’ book, after which a press statement will be issued, and the day will conclude with a formal dinner.
Accompanying President Tinubu are key officials such as Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar; Defense Minister Abubakar Badaru; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) Ekperikpe Ekpo; and Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Other members of the delegation include Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi; Minister of Youth Development Jamila Ibrahim-Bio; and Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Mele Kyari.
Representatives from the business community, particularly the oil and gas sector, are also part of the visit, including Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu, the GCEO of Matrix Group.
