President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Mahmud Sanusi Mohammed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority.
Dr. Mohammed, who hails from Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State, is a distinguished professional with extensive qualifications in disaster management and environmental studies.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that he holds a degree in Geography, a Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing, as well as a Master’s in Disaster and Risk Management and Development Studies, all from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Mohammed is a Fellow of the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science and serves as a member of the board of trustees of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN).
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Senate, on Wednesday, confirmed the appointments of 21 federal commissioners for the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The appointees were confirmed during the day’s plenary presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The confirmation was sequel to the presentation and consideration of the report of the Joint Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs and Finance for the Confirmation of the Nominations for Appointment as Federal Commissioners in the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
