BREAKING: Tinubu Departs For Three-Day Official Visit To Equatorial Guinea

President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a three-day official visit to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, following an invitation from President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

The President’s flight took off around 1:00 PM on Wednesday.

Notable figures present to see him off included the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

According to an earlier statement by the Presidential Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu will meet with President Nguema Mbasogo at the Presidential Villa in Malabo. The two leaders are expected to engage in discussions and sign agreements related to oil, gas, and security.

The statement reads in part, “President Bola Tinubu will on Wednesday, August 14, depart Abuja for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, on a three-day official visit to honour the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.”

“President Tinubu will meet with the Equatorial Guinean President at the Presidential Villa on arrival, where meetings will be held between the two leaders and agreements, particularly on oil and gas and security, signed.”

Accompanying President Tinubu on this trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other members of his cabinet, who will participate in signing agreements and exploring opportunities to enhance bilateral relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
