Tinubu Fully Committed To Fixing Nigeria’s Healthcare Sector – Tunji Alausa
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to fix the healthcare system in Nigeria.
The minister made the assurance after a recent meeting with the United States (US) Ambassador to Nigeria, David Greene.
The meeting was aimed at collaborating with the US government to provide better healthcare to Nigerians.
Speaking with Eko Hot TV on the president’s stance on Nigeria’s health sector, Alausa said he is committed to changing the narrative and providing every necessary resource to trigger positive change in the health sector.

The minister said Tinubu’s resolve is why he appointed him, a US-based Nephrologist, and Minister of Health, Prof. Ali Pate, to lead the health ministry.
Alausa said the president has assured him and Pate of giving all the necessary support to be successful in fixing the troubled healthcare system.
“Nigeria is well-endowed. It’s just that our resources are not being managed the way we would want but now, we have President Bola Tinubu who understands economics. And he has made promises over and over that he will fix this country,” Alausa stated.
“The president has been very deliberate and calculative on how he wants to do this. That is why he chose myself and Prof. Ali Pate to lead the Healthcare system and he’s told us he’ll give us all the support that we want to fix Nigeria’s healthcare system.
“He’s been unequivocal that what we have now in our healthcare system is not where we want to be. We have one of the highest maternal death rates in the world. Therefore, we must work hard to fix the system as soon as possible for the benefit of Nigerians.”
