Nigeria’s new President, Bola Tinubu, is currently in a meeting with the Nigerian security chiefs, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Chief of Defence Staff led the Service Chiefs and heads of other security agencies into the seat of power at about 10:30 GMT for the security meeting.
The ongoing meeting is President Tinubu’s first official engagement with the heads of the nation’s security and intelligence agencies since he assumed office on Monday, May 29.
The President met with the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, at the Villa on Wednesday.
Those present at the meeting include the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.
Others are the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.
