EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of Iyalode Alaba Lawson, MFR.
Chief Lawson, hailed by the President as an enterprising, courageous, astute, and distinguished businesswoman and leader, left an indelible mark in the world of commerce.
“Iyalode Lawson epitomized enterprise, brilliance, and ingenuity. Her death is a very painful loss. May the Almighty God grant her eternal rest,” President Tinubu conveyed.
Iyalode Alaba Lawson served as the former president of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
The founder of the popular Alaba Lawson Group of Schools, Abeokuta died in the early hours of Saturday.
She was born on January 18, 1951, and was a Nigerian business magnate, entrepreneur, academician, and champion of women’s upliftment and empowerment. She was until her death the Iyalode of Egbaland and Chairman of Chairman Board of Trustees of ABEOCCIMA.
