Tinubu Mourns The Passing Of Accounting Doyen Akintola Williams

Eko Hot Blog reports that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the family, friends, and associates of Chief Akintola Williams, who died on Monday at the age of 104.

In a statement, Tinubu said Williams was a “doyen of accounting in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa” who had made “immense contributions to the growth of the nation and humanity.”

Tinubu said Williams was a “man of integrity, resilience, and resourcefulness” who inspired a generation of professionals in the accounting field. He also noted Williams’s commitment to charity and his work to improve education and healthcare in Nigeria.

“Oloye Williams was a true Nigerian patriot who dedicated his life to making our country a better place,” Tinubu said. “His passing is a great loss to Nigeria, but his legacy will live on.”

Tinubu also recalled sending warm felicitations to Williams on his 104th birthday in August. “I had the privilege of meeting Oloye Williams on several occasions, and I was always struck by his wisdom and humility,” Tinubu said. “He was a truly remarkable man, and I will miss him dearly.”

Tinubu prayed that God would grant Williams’s soul eternal rest and comfort his family.
