Provide Immediate Assistance To Flood Victims In Maiduguri – Tinubu Orders NEMA
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide urgent assistance to those affected by the severe flooding in Maiduguri, Borno State’s capital.
The flood, described as the worst in recent decades, has displaced thousands and disrupted essential facilities, including the Post Office and Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, President Tinubu expressed his profound concern over the disaster, which was caused by the overflow of the Alau Dam.
He extended his condolences to the Borno State government and the people, especially those who have lost their homes and livelihoods.
The President called for the immediate evacuation of residents from the flood-affected areas and assured Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of federal support to address the humanitarian crisis.
President Tinubu committed to mobilizing federal resources to support Borno State during this challenging period.
The statement further noted, “President Tinubu is deeply troubled by the flooding in Maiduguri, which has displaced many and impacted key infrastructure.
He offers his heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this disaster and emphasizes the need for immediate action.”
