Daniel Bwala claims President Tinubu will soon reshuffle his cabinet following criticisms about the administration’s accessibility and effectiveness.
Eko Hot Blog reports that a former spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa presidential campaign in the 2023 election Daniel Bwala, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu will soon reshuffle his cabinet.
Bwala made this revelation in a statement where he criticized Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Ali Ndume for his recent remarks about the current administration.
In a BBC Hausa interview on Wednesday, Ndume highlighted the federal government’s failure to address security problems and other significant issues as major obstacles. He also pointed out that some ministers are unable to discuss these issues with President Tinubu.
“The major problem with this government is that its doors are closed, to the extent that even some ministers cannot see the President, not to mention members of the National Assembly, who do not have the opportunity to meet with him and discuss the issues affecting their constituencies,” Ndume said.
Ndume further stated that the president had lost touch with reality as certain forces had isolated him at Aso Rock. Speaking at the National Assembly, he told reporters that the president’s accessibility was severely restricted.
On Friday, Bwala mentioned in a press release that an evaluation of the current ministers had been conducted, and it is expected that President Tinubu will announce a new lineup of ministers in a few weeks.
He mentioned that Senator Ndume frequently criticizes President Tinubu’s government and its ministers.
However, Bwala said it is important to remember that several of the individuals labelled as “cabinet members” were selected by individuals like him (Ndume), including governors and party leaders from various states within the Federation.
He added: “And Mr. President has repeatedly told whoever cared to listen that he would not run a cabinet that is not prone to reshufflement like Nigerians witnessed under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Only recently, the assessment of the current crop of Ministers was done. And in a couple of days or weeks from now, President Tinubu would unveil a new cabinet reshufflement.
“Why cannot Senator Ndume wait till that time to know if he will continue with his wailing and ululation? Senator Ali Ndume has continued to show that he is an overrated political beneficiary of our system and in endless search of his self-discovery.”
In May, President Tinubu promised to remove any cabinet member he believes does not meet the Nigerian people’s expectations.
During a gathering with the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) leadership at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President stated that he would persist in his efforts to serve the nation.
“I thank the cabinet members for their efforts, but I will relieve any of them of their duties anytime I feel that they are failing Nigerians,” the president had said.
