The 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has declared that his political focus is now fully directed at ensuring the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Adediran made the declaration on Friday during a rally held in the Ojo area of Lagos, where he officially announced his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party he had previously left to pursue his gubernatorial ambition under the PDP.

Jandor had earlier resigned from the PDP on March 3, 2025. Although he did not win the 2023 gubernatorial election, he maintained that his political efforts had opened new opportunities for members of the Badagry division within the APC.

Addressing a crowd of supporters at the rally, Adediran praised President Tinubu’s ongoing reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, describing the move as bold and selfless.

“Our conviction to come back home is as a result of the reforms that Mr. President is doing,” he said. “Removal of fuel subsidy makes Tinubu a selfless President because he could have kept the status quo just to secure a second term. But he chose the harder route for the country’s sake.”

He added, “We are going to do everything humanly possible to work for his re-election in 2027, to ensure he continues to reposition the country.”

The rally also featured the Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who warmly welcomed Adediran back to the party, describing his return as a significant political development. He urged all party members to embrace Adediran’s team and continue working diligently for the party’s success.

“Let us put in our best; our commitment will be recognised. Our votes are our investment in this government,” Ojelabi said.

The event was attended by several prominent figures including former Lagos Deputy Governor Sarah Sosan, state and federal lawmakers, and loyalists from the Lagos4Lagos Movement and PDP.
