President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on Tuesday night after spending the Christmas and New Year holidays in Lagos and attending the inauguration of Ghana’s newly elected President, John Dramani Mahama.

The president’s festive break in Lagos began on December 18, 2024, when he arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

He was warmly received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and other senior officials.

During his time in Lagos, Tinubu engaged in various private activities to mark the holiday season. His presence in the state underscored his strong ties to Lagos, where he previously served as governor.

Before departing for the holidays, Tinubu had presented the 2025 national budget of N47.9 trillion during a joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja.

The ambitious budget, aimed at addressing critical national issues, drew attention to the president’s economic plans for the year ahead.

In Ghana, Tinubu participated as the Special Guest of Honour at the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama, signaling Nigeria’s commitment to fostering strong diplomatic ties with its West African neighbors.
