President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Eko Hot Blog gathered that the President said the celebration should go beyond commemorating the birth of the Prophet and provide an opportunity for Muslims to reflect, pray and draw lessons from his exemplary character.
Tinubu encouraged the faithful to demonstrate values associated with Prophet Muhammad, including patience, humility, tolerance, devotion and selflessness.
He said these virtues remained relevant to building a peaceful and united society, urging Muslims to consciously incorporate them into their daily lives.
The President also called on Islamic clerics and other religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and encourage their followers to contribute positively to the nation’s development.
He further appealed to Muslims celebrating the festival to remember people facing hardship by extending support and kindness to the less privileged and vulnerable.
Tinubu also urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for an end to insecurity and other challenges affecting communities across the country.
