Tinubu Vows As He Announces Abuja Rail Mass Transit Ready To Roll In May

Eko hot blog reports that In an exclusive update, Minister Nyesom Wike revealed that the Abuja Rail Mass Transit project is nearing completion, hitting an impressive 95%. The project aims to revolutionize public transportation in the nation’s capital, Abuja according to Tinubu vows.

“President Bola Tinubu’s directive was clear: get it done,” Wike emphasized during a visit by Belgium Ambassador Daniel Bertrand. “By May, we’re looking at inauguration.”

Highlighting the urgency, Wike stressed the need to alleviate congestion in the city and provide residents with efficient transport options. The impending launch promises easier access to key areas like the airport and surrounding councils, reducing reliance on personal vehicles.

But it’s not just about trains. Wike outlined plans to modernize FCT’s public transportation system, addressing security concerns posed by unregistered operators. “We’re establishing terminals for taxis and buses,” he confirmed, noting efforts to ensure all operators comply with regulations.

Moreover, discussions are underway to tackle issues like open grazing, with collaboration sought from law enforcement agencies and stakeholders.

Ambassador Bertrand praised FCT’s progress, expressing interest in potential partnerships. With green spaces and reduced traffic, Abuja’s future looks promising.
