According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Aliyu Tukur on behalf of Ubandoma, Tinubu expressed delight over the former governorship candidate’s decision to return to the APC and assured him of his support and full integration into the party.
“I am delighted to welcome you back to the APC. You have my support, and you will be fully integrated into the party,” the President was quoted as saying.
Tinubu also urged Ubandoma to maintain a close working relationship with Senator Aliyu Wamakko and Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto to strengthen the APC and consolidate its achievements in the state.

“Sustain your close working relationship with Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto as we continue to strengthen the APC and consolidate the progress already recorded,” he said.
The statement described the meeting as cordial and productive, adding that discussions centred on strengthening the APC in Sokoto State and promoting greater unity within the party.
Ubandoma recently defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the APC after a brief stay in the opposition party.
He previously served as Commissioner for Finance and Secretary to the Sokoto State Government. He was also the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 general election before leaving the party for the ADC and subsequently returning to the APC.
