Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Drives Major Agricultural Push in Plateau
President Bola Tinubu has received commendation for declaring a state of emergency on agriculture in the country.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, gave his remarks over the weekend during the launch of a pilot project for the wheat season safety program, aimed at empowering young people in Plateau State.

The event took place in Mangun, within Mangu local government area. More than 5,000 youths from all 325 wards in the state are taking part in wet season training focused on agricultural production.
This initiative is designed to provide young individuals with essential agricultural skills, enhance food security, and stimulate economic growth in the state.
Kyari noted that the program reflects President Tinubu’s strong commitment to food security and sustainable development.
He further stated that agriculture remains a fundamental part of the nation’s economy, with wheat production playing a crucial role in ensuring food availability.
The minister highlighted that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda places strong emphasis on food security, poverty reduction, and job creation.
In his address, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Dah Jacob Gyang Buba, assured that traditional leaders are ready to support wheat cultivation to boost productivity and social progress.

Bulus Dabit, National President of the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA), expressed gratitude to the ministry for selecting Kombum District as the location for initiating wheat production in the state.
Youth leaders from various ethnic communities, along with the All Farmers Association in the state, pledged their commitment to advancing agriculture and supporting development efforts in the region.
