Tinubu’s Selfish Agenda Eclipses Nigeria’s Interests, Atiku Claims

Eko Hot Blog reports that in a scathing statement, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has leveled allegations against President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of prioritizing personal and family interests over national concerns.

Additionally, Atiku claims Tinubu’s administration is more focused on propaganda than implementing policies and strategies to promote investment.

Citing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, Atiku expressed concerns over the presence of Seyi, Tinubu’s son, on the board of the company handling the project, calling it a “conflict of interest.”

Furthermore, he criticized the “destruction of Landmark Beach without any compensation for the owners” as a red flag for potential investors.

“Tinubu has been globetrotting in search of foreign direct investments. He claims to have secured over $30 billion from various companies, but none has been forthcoming,” Atiku stated, questioning the administration’s economic policies.

Moreover, he highlighted the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) prediction that Nigeria will become the fourth-largest economy in Africa by the end of the year, a “disgraceful development” for a nation once the largest in Africa.

Atiku also raised concerns about the awarding of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project, alleging a lack of transparency and proper planning.

“The awarding of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway was rushed; the environmental impact assessment report was not even completed; the right of way for the 700 km stretch of the highway project was not secured; it was converted from a PPP to a government funded project within the twinkle of an eye,” he claimed.

Additionally, Atiku criticized the administration’s handling of the petrol scarcity crisis, stating, “From falsely claiming to have removed subsidies to secretly paying billions monthly based on the revelation of Nasir el-Rufai, the Tinubu administration has shown a lack of coordination and transparency, failing to even explain to Nigerians why there is petrol scarcity across the country.”
