Ekohotblog:Tinubu’s Speech That Moves Elumelu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s speech at the New York Stock Exchange moved Tony Elumelu and raised the hope of local investors.
Tinubu and a few Nigerian business executive were at the New York Stock Exchange where the president spoke to lure foreign investors to Nigeria.
Tinubu said, “If the private sector is not flourishing, there will be no growth and prosperity and there is not going to be employment. No matter how flowering the speeches are. I don’t have to do quadratic equation to explain all of these to you. I was in the New York Stock Exchange and to tell the investors to show boldness and show their faces, Nigeria is a self-believer and can always deliver on its own.”
At the end of the speech, Elumelu had to move closer to Tinubu to thank him for raising the hope of the local investors and his belief that they can do it.
Tinubu stated that his idea is how to inspire little child to take little step and relate it to the economic changes that we are going through.
”There are some countries that have failed and some succeeded but in our own time we will succeed. All of us must work together to succeed,”” he said.
