Tips for Combating Holiday Stress and Improving Sex Life

Christmas and holiday period, while being a joyous and much-awaited time of the year, also brings with it a fair share of stress, busy schedules, and a surprising decline in sex life.

Eko Hot Blog reports that a collaborative study conducted by Stanford University and Columbia University sheds light on this phenomenon by analyzing data from 500,000 women residing in the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, and the United States.

As reported by The Guardian and Business Insider Mexico, the study found out that sexual interest dips almost entirely three days before Christmas due to a myriad of factors, such as holiday organization, family obligations, financial strain, and excessive food and alcohol consumption.

The hustle and bustle of preparations, expectations, rituals, traditions, family responsibilities, and social and business events often leave couples with little time to relax, connect, and engage in intimate moments.

A research report by the Kinsey Institute, cited by Miracle Leaf, highlights the correlation between stress and decreased desire levels, with 63% of British adults acknowledging the negative impact of stress on their sex lives.

However, the holiday season doesn’t have to put a damper on intimacy, as there are ways to overcome stress and rekindle the passion.
