Tiwa Savage Slams Wizkid FC, Calls Fans Bullies Over Harassment
Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has accused fans of Wizkid, known as “Wizkid FC,” of bullying her after they criticised her for releasing a new song on the same day as Wizkid. The singer made these remarks on Friday, calling out the harassment she received from the fanbase.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Tiwa Savage’s new track, Toma Toma, featuring Ruger, was released on November 15. In a post on Instagram promoting the song, Tiwa wrote, “Told y’all this one is special. The @rugerofficial called and I answered.”
However, some of Wizkid’s fans reacted negatively in the comments, accusing her of trying to overshadow Wizkid’s music. One fan, @standardwears1, commented, “Dey play, nothing special pass Wizzy hits.” In response, Tiwa Savage hit back, calling them “bullies” and stating, “Because I am promoting music? WTF. Y’all are not fans anymore, you guys are actual bullies.”
Meanwhile, Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has explained why he cannot diss Wizkid, his senior colleague in the industry. In a recent interaction on social media with fans of Davido, Kizz Daniel spoke about his respect for Wizkid and why he would not disrespect him.
Naija News reports that the exchange began when a fan of Davido, @TUMMYOF30BG, expressed admiration for Kizz Daniel, writing, “Bro, but 30BG love you sha. Just know that.” Kizz Daniel replied, acknowledging the fanbase and calling it “rugged and hyped,” in contrast to the “calculative and wise” Vaddicts (a fanbase for Wizkid).
When a fan with the handle @continentalBoy2 challenged Kizz Daniel to diss Wizkid in light of the ongoing rivalry between Wizkid and Davido, Kizz Daniel declined, saying, “Na machala and baddest workings most of us dey enjoy now, it will be unwise my brother. Respect the ones before you.” Kizz Daniel emphasized the importance of showing respect to those who have paved the way for others in the music industry.
