Tobi Amusan Trains In Jamaica Under Usain Bolt’s Coach Glen Mills

World record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, is reportedly training in Jamaica under the guidance of renowned coach Glen Mills, who is famous for mentoring multiple world record holder and fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt.

Radio Jamaica Sports reports that Amusan, who has been training in Jamaica since September — one month after her challenging performance at the Paris Olympics — may remain there throughout the entire 2025 season.

Prior to Radio Jamaica Sports’ revelation, Amusan had been training under the guidance of former Commonwealth champion and retired Jamaican hurdler, Lascena Golding-Clarke, to whom she often expresses high praise.

“From you ma, I have learned strength, determination, self-discipline, and respect amongst many others. Mrs Clarke, I can’t thank you enough for your dedication to helping me pursue my goals & for all of your inspiring lessons,” she wrote about coach Golding-Clarke after graduating from UTEP in 2023.

Amusan has remained out of the spotlight since the surprise of missing the final at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Representing Nigeria, she has competed in three Olympic Games and has earned multiple accolades, including four African Games titles, five African Championships, three Diamond League victories (2021, 2022, 2023), and two Commonwealth Games gold medals (2018 and 2022).
