Tokunbo Wahab, Agbaje, Shittu, Others for Youth Conference 2024
Ekohotblog reports that the much-anticipated Youth Conference 2024 is set to bring together young minds, policymakers, and thought leaders under the theme “One World, One Future: Leveraging Diversity for Self-Sustaining Success.”
The week-long event, coming up between 9th to 15th of December 2024,at the Epe local government secretariat, promises a blend of inspiration, skill-building, and community engagement, with a lineup of distinguished guests and engaging activities.
Among the special guests is Hon. Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner for Environment/Water Resources.
Known for his dedication to environmental sustainability and youth empowerment, his participation is expected to motivate attendees.
Speaking about the event, Wahab remarked, “The youth are the cornerstone of our future.
This conference is a golden opportunity to build unity and innovation in shaping the Lagos of tomorrow.”
Joining him is Hon. Olusegun Agbaje, Commissioner III of the Lagos Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).
Agbaje has consistently advocated for educational advancement and youth potential.
“Education remains the key to unlocking a brighter future. We must equip our young leaders to take charge and create meaningful change,” he said.
Dr. Hakeem Shittu, Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Education Board (SUBEB), will also be in attendance.
Recently named the best SUBEB Chairman in Nigeria’s South-West geopolitical zone, Shittu emphasized the importance of initiatives like this.
“The future lies in the hands of these young people. It is our duty to guide and support them as they navigate their paths,” he commented.
The conference offers a variety of activities designed to inspire and engage participants.
Highlights include a press conference focusing on youth council leadership and its impact, an essay writing and public speaking competition for senior secondary school students, and a graduation ceremony for skilled students in fashion design.
Participants will also enjoy a picnic and networking opportunities aimed at building lifelong connections.
One of the organizers, speaking about the conference’s goals, said,
“This is more than an event. It’s a movement to inspire youth to redefine narratives and explore new possibilities for success.”
