Wahab expressed his appreciation for the academy’s initiatives in creating awareness and advocating for a cleaner and healthier environment.
Taking to his X handle on Twitter on Monday, January 29, 2024, Commissioner Wahab shared his delight in the impactful advocacy and awareness programs organized by the LAWMA Academy.
He highlighted the academy’s dedication to promoting environmental sustainability through various initiatives aimed at educating the public.
Wahab specifically commended the recent informative session conducted by the LAWMA Academy, targeting school pupils.
“LAWMA Academy is persistently working towards promoting environmental sustainability through various advocacy and awareness programs,” he remarked.
The session focused on key aspects of waste management, the circular economy, LAWMA’s operations, and recent environmental activities in the state.
“The team highlighted the harmful effects of dumping refuse at unauthorized places and the importance of patronizing assigned PSP operators while avoiding cart pushers,” Wahab stated.
The academy’s session also underscored the importance of avoiding the use of banned styrofoam for food consumption and encouraged creative ways to reuse waste items.
“The session aimed to sensitize the pupils on the significance of adopting eco-friendly practices for a cleaner and healthier environment,” Wahab added.
