Tokyo 2020: Cote d’Ivoire Deny Super Falcons Olympic Ticket

The Super Falcons of Nigeria once again missed the chance of participating in an Olympic competition after playing a 1-1draw with Cote d’Ivoire at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.

The race to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics women’s football tournament ended for the Coach Dajuma’s women as the Ivorian win on an away goal rule.

The reigning African champions had last week Thursday played 0-0 in Abidjan and with Monday’s result, the Ivorian ladies progress to the penultimate round of the qualification series against Cameroon.

The visitors took the lead through Nina Kpaho’s free-kick that beat goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Skipper Asisat Oshoala equalised for the Super Falcons before Francisca Ordega missed a chance to make it 2-1.
