Rivers State High Court Issues Restraining Order Against APC Congresses
A Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has granted an ex parte order restraining the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Abdullahi Umar-Ganduje and Secretary Surajudeen Ojibola-Basiru, from proceeding with the planned Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses scheduled for October 11, 16, and 26, 2024.
The lawsuit, filed by Peter Ohochukwu and Haija Ndidi-Chukwuma, also names the APC, the Inspector General of Police, Nigeria Police, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as defendants.
Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ariwoola, Retires
Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the 22nd Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), has retired upon reaching the age of 70. Justice Ariwoola was born on August 22, 1954.

Benue State High Court Issues Injunction Against PDP Congress
A Benue State High Court in Makurdi has issued an injunction preventing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from conducting its state congress in Benue State.
The order was issued in response to a lawsuit filed by a group of plaintiffs against the PDP and its officials.
