EKO HOT BLOG reports that a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State, Hajiya Musafaram, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This online media platform understands that the politician has been a loyal member of the PDP since 1999. However, after 23 years of working with the opposition party, she joined the ruling camp on Saturday ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Musafaran, according to reports, was received into the APC yesterday by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
It was confirmed in a statement made available to journalists on Sunday by the Director-General Press and Media Affairs to Gov. Buni, Mamman Mohammed, that the former PDP official was received into APC alongside some other defectors.
At the reception, the new entrant said the performance of the Buni-led administration in improving the lives of the people of the State made them dump their former camp for the APC.
Some former executive members of the PDP from the Geidam Local Government Area of the state were reportedly among the defectors.
In his remark, Governor Buni assured the new members of equal opportunities with existing members.
