Top Police Officer Killed As Okada Riders Clash In Lagos
A top Police officer has been hacked to death during following a clash between commercial motorcyclists, popularly called okada in Lagos.
EkoHotBlog reports that the top police officer identifid as, Kazeem S. Abonde Chief Superintendent of Police was killed on Thursday in the Ajao area of Lagos State.
Recall this online news platform earlier reported that Lagos Task Force operatives raided an area in Lago, seized over 400 motorcycles. An update development reveals that CSP Abonde led the teamt to raid against okada operators in Ajao Estate on Thursday.
CSP Abonde was reportedly hacked to death by unidentified persons during the clash between the police and motorcycle riders in the area.

During the attack, the deceased was mobbed after he became exposed as his men ran in different directions for safety. Two police vehicles were damaged.
Isolo LCDA Chairman, Adebayo Olasoju has appealed to residents and other concerned parties to stay calm.
Olasajo, in a statement disclosed that he, officials of the council and Area D police commander visited the scene.
He stressed that violence, in whatever form, can not solve any misunderstanding and should be avoided.
“Ajao Estate, being a major entry point, especially to foreigners coming into our dear nation, deserves the serenity obtainable in city of equal status in advanced countries,” Olasoju said.
The chairman announced the commencement of an investigation and assured that security has been beefed up.
Giving a breakdown of motorcyclists impounded, Chairman of the task force, CSP Shola Jejeloye, in a statement issued yesterday by the Head, Public Affairs Unit, Femi Moliki, said a total of 410 motorcycles were impounded between last week and Wednesday, September 22 on prohibited routes, while 300 were impounded last week and 110 seized on Wednesday.
He explained that operatives of the agency carried out enforcement in Isolo, Ojodu – Berger, Ojota, Lagos Island and Surulere last week, while the enforcement drive of the agency was also extended to 2nd Rainbow, where it seized 110 motorcycles on Wednesday.
