Gerrard’s side have won just once in six games so far this season and sit 17th in the Premier League table.
Villa grabbed a surprise point on Saturday, holding champions Manchester City to a 1-1 draw. But Bent does not think Gerrard is out of the woods yet.
Bottom-of-the-table Leicester are the next opponents, with Villa travelling to the King Power Stadium on Saturday. A home clash against Southampton follows, before two away days at Leeds and Nottingham Forest.
Bent did not think the City result would affect Gerrard’s future. However, he says the Liverpool legend will be in trouble if he doesn’t win at least two of the next four.
“They hung in there, they rode their luck a little bit which you need against top teams, and they leave with a point.”
Ahead of the match at the weekend, Gerrard admitted he was concerned over his future at Villa Park. He said: “Of course I do [worry]. I’m really honest and self-critical of myself.
“I’ll do my job to the best I can do, I’ll step forward, I’ll take the responsibility in the best way I can. But if I stood here and said to you that I wasn’t concerned, I think you’d look at me as if I was from a different planet.”
