Super Eagles defender Ola Aina, who currently plays for Nottingham Forest, has been linked with a possible move to Manchester City.
However, Aina jokingly mentioned he is also open to joining Kano Pillars in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
During an interview on The Appointment Show, Aina was asked which club he would like to play for. With a playful smile, he replied, “Do you know Kano Pillars?” His comment, made in jest, quickly sparked reactions from Nigerian fans, who would love to see him play in the local league.

While the Kano Pillars comment was a joke, reports suggest Manchester City is genuinely interested in signing Aina. Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo supports the idea, calling it a “brilliant move” for both the player and Manchester City.
Yobo praised Aina’s defensive skills and attacking abilities, saying he is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and would fit well in Pep Guardiola’s system.
With Aina’s contract at Nottingham Forest ending this summer, he could become one of the most sought-after free agents. If Manchester City signs him, it would be a huge moment for Nigerian football on the world stage.
