Eko Hot Blog reports that Tottenham Hotspur Manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that James Maddison’s ankle injury will prevent him from playing competitive football until January.
It would be recalled Gareth Southgate, the England national team coach left out James Maddison from the squad that will execute England’s 2024 European Championship qualifiers in November.
Micky van de Ven, who joined Spurs from Wolfsburg in the summer, also left the Monday night Premier League game with a hamstring injury.
“Fair to say a fair bit happened after Monday,” coach Postecoglou said ahead of their Premier League clash with Wolves.
“[Maddison] is a lot worse than we thought. He came off with an ankle injury and the next day wasn’t great, so we sent him for a scan.”
The Australian technician added, “Micky obviously with that hamstring injury, we knew it was fairly significant, probably a couple of months for him looking into the new year.”

Due to the surgery Richarlison had earlier this month for a groin injury, the Brazilian forward is set to be out for Tottenham.
Defenders Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie, who were both shown red cards against Chelsea, will miss Saturday’s Premier League match against Wolves due to suspension.
