EKO HOT BLOG reports that 19 vehicles have been seized by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority for indiscriminate and illegal parking across the state.
The effort, which concentrated on unlawful parking and garages, was conducted in and around Apongbon in the state’s Lagos Island region.
Bolaji Oreagba, the General Manager of LASTMA, claimed that the organization was working to improve traffic flow throughout the state during the winter months.
He said the ongoing total enforcement exercise which was expected to cover major identified spots, was being coordinated by the Core Operations Commands from LASTMA headquarters in Oshodi.
In a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs Unit, LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, Oreagba implored law abiding citizens of the state, especially motorists, to adhere strictly to the traffic law in order not to run afoul of the law.
“We must all have a positive attitude towards obeying the law of the state which was made to ensure orderliness and fast-paced socio-economic improvement of individuals, corporate entities and generality of the people,” Oreagba said.
Oreagba urged drivers and general road users to be compliant with traffic laws in order to make the ‘Smart City’ vision achievable in the state.
