Traffic Official Killed By Hit-Run Driver In Kano
An official of Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) has been knocked down by a hit and run driver.
Kano police command spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the incident.
He said the incident happened yesterday evening at Yandusa junction in Dakata quarters of Nasarawa local government in Kano state, when a driver hit the KAROTA official after attempting to arrest him for violating traffic rules.
He explained that in the process, the driver crushed one Tijjani Adamu a traffic warden to death and zoomed off.
Haruna said the deceased was confirmed dead by Doctor at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano.
He said investigation was ongoing to trace and arrest the suspected driver.
Spokesperson of the Kano Road Traffic Agency KAROTA also confirmed the incident, adding that the deceased’s corpse was given to his relatives for burial.
