EKOHOTBLOG reports that tragedy struck in Amokpo, Umuanunwa, Nteje in the Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State as a pupil of Global Growth Academy was eaten by 10 dogs belonging to the owner of the school.
It was gathered that the tragic incident occurred when one of the parents of the child took the boy to the school for registration last Monday.
According to the residents of the community, while the parent was perfecting the documentation and registration of the child, the child strayed and the dogs attacked, dragged him to their shed, and feasted on him.
EKOHOTBLOG further learnt that the owner of the school, Chinedu Oka, is a UK returnee who rears dogs on the same compound that houses the school.
It was gathered that the Nteje community, where the incident occurred, culturally prohibits the rearing of dogs.

The residents of the community disclosed that the UK returnee had been warned about rearing dogs in the community but refused to listen to the community’s instructions.
EKOHOTBLOG, however, learnt that the youth vigilante in the community, on hearing the tragic incident, rushed to the school compound and shot the dogs to death.
Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of the Nteje community, Igwe Roland Odegbo, while reacting to the incident, said the proprietor of the school knew that dogs rearing was prohibited in the community and went ahead to rear the dogs.
“The young man knows that we don’t accommodate dogs in our community and he went ahead to surround himself with dogs despite warning from the community,” the monarch said.
