Eko Hot Blog reports that a staff member of the Fidelity Bank, Emmanuel Ebere, slumped and died at the company’s Awolowo, Ikoyi branch in Lagos State on Wednesday.
This news medium gathered that Ebere was rushed to the Military hospital, Ikoyi, where doctors confirmed him dead.
The bank’s regional security officer (name withheld) reportedly alerted the policemen at the Ikoyi Division of the incident.
The Lagos State Police Command spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Ebere’s death.
According to Hundeyin, the deceased died about 6:30 am and his remains have been deposited at a morgue for autopsy.
“Based on the report, a team of detectives from the Ikoyi Division visited the hospital and examined the corpse,” the police spokesman in Lagos said.
“No mark of violence was seen on the body. Corpse has been evacuated and deposited at the Marina General Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
Meanwhile, there are speculations that Ebere’s death might be connected to the pressure on the staff members to meet up with their quota.
The deceased was attached to the bank’s Information and Communication Technology unit.
