Tragedy As Wife Stabs Husband’s Nephew To Death For Breaking Mirror

  • Tragedy as wife has stabbed her husband’s nephew to death for breaking mirror.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a 30-year-old wife, Cynthia Olukiowu of 2, Apogidonoyo street, Jafa Agbado, Ogun State, has reportedly stabbed her husband’s nephew, Habeeb Aremu, to death.

Olukiowu was arrested yesterday after the police at Agbado division received a distress call that she had stabbed the 18-year-old teenager to death after accusing him of breaking a mirror.

According to Daily Post, it was learnt that a minor discord had ensued over who broke the mirror and this snowballed into the woman picking a knife from the kitchen, with which he stabbed the boy to death.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, Ogun State police image maker, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed that the allegation about the broken mirror “led to a disagreement between the deceased and his uncle’s wife, subsequent upon which the suspect took a kitchen knife and used it to stab the deceased on his neck.”

According to Oyeyemi, the DPO of Agbado division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, had upon the distress call, led his men to the scene, where the suspect was arrested.

He explained that the victim, who was met in the pool of his own blood, was rushed to hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty, adding that his corpse was deposited at Ifo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun, Lanre Bankole, had ordered transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the State CIID for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
