Tottenham have completed the signing of Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes.
The Portuguese midfielder becomes Tottenham’s first signing of the January transfer window and the first signing of the Jose Mourinho era in north London, with the 21-year-old joining on an initial 18-month loan deal.
Spurs have the option to make the deal permanent for around £55millon the summer of 2021.
Fernandes opted for Spurs over a move to West Ham while Manchester United were also linked earlier this month.
