Barcelona have reportedly turned down Arsenal’s €90 million bid for Brazilian winger Raphinha, making it clear they would only entertain offers exceeding €100 million for the 27-year-old star.
Raphinha, in scintillating form this season, has emerged as an indispensable figure for Barcelona under manager Hansi Flick. With 12 goals and 10 assists in just 17 appearances, his performances have earned him the captain’s armband and solidified his position as a key player.

Arsenal, who were interested in signing Raphinha during his Leeds United days in 2022, have rekindled their pursuit. However, their initial offer was swiftly dismissed. Spanish outlet Fichajes reports that Barcelona considers the winger an essential asset, unwilling to sell him for less than a nine-figure sum.
“His ability to adapt to different attacking roles has made him an essential asset for Barcelona, which seems unwilling to part with one of its top talents for less than €100 million,” the publication noted.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen on Raphinha, seeing him as a perfect fit for the Gunners’ attacking philosophy due to his ability to play effectively on either flank. However, the North London club faces challenges in meeting Barcelona’s demands. Arsenal’s transfer policy has generally favored younger or more cost-effective players, as seen with recent signings like Leandro Trossard and Jorginho. Raphinha, who turns 28 next month, could test their willingness to break that mold.
The absence of a permanent sporting director at Arsenal adds further complications, though reports suggest PSG’s Luis Campos is a candidate for the role.
Meanwhile, Barcelona may yet consider selling Raphinha for a massive fee, with speculation mounting that the proceeds could be used to pursue Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, a long-term target. For now, though, the Catalan club remains firm in their resolve to retain their in-form captain.
